The Fair Haven – Burnaby Apartment Building is a three-storey independent living rental apartment for seniors 55 years and over, and for tenants 50 - 54 years old with disabilities.
There are 55 barrier-free, 1-BR units with floor area of approximately 650 sq. ft. All units have a small patio. Communal seating areas, some with TVs and pianos, are available for the tenants to use.
The building, which opened in March 1999, is a project in partnership with the BC Housing and Mortgage Corporation; 33 units are subsidized on a needs basis and the 22 units are market units.
The first floor lounge (with kitchen) is available for tenants’ use; booking with the office is required in advance.
Subsidized Units are a percentage of the tenant’s income (assessed based on BC Housing guidelines)
*Radiant heat and hot water are included in the rent.
Applicants must be over 55 years and able to care for themselves. Applicant’s income must be within the BC Housing Seniors Rentals Income Limits.
